摘要

The adsorption of organic compounds from dilute aqueous solution on activated carbon strongly depends on the porestructure and the chemical nature of the carbons as well as the chemical properties of the solute. The adsorption fromdilute aqueous solution is also influenced by many factors, such as pH, solubility of adsorbate in the solvent, andtemperature as well as adsorptive concentration. In the present work the liquid phase adsorption experiments have beenperformed using benzene, toluene, and nitrobenzene as the adsorbates and activated carbon prepared from charcoal ofteak sawdust as adsorbent. The adsorption experiments were carried out isothermally in static mode at three differenttemperatures, 303.15, 313.15, and 323.15 K. The Dubinin-Radushkevich equation, which is generally used forheterogeneous adsorbent was used to correlate the data.
