Combinatorial chemistry is a novel and innovative way of rapidly generating a large number of related compounds. Since Merrifield introduced the solid phase peptide synthesis some 30 years age, the solid phase method is generally used for preparing combinatorial chemical libraries. Our previous work[1] had found polystyrene sodium sulfinate resin a very useful reactive polymer support for solid phase synthesis. This report uses the polystyrene sodium sulfinate resin for the combinatorial synthesis of a library of 2,5-substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazoles.
