Intelligent agent acts as an important component in mobile Internet service. Former semantic parsing and transformation methods between HTML and WML always tend to information half-baked. In this paper, we proposed a novel method based on an intelligent agent to parse and transform messages between Internet content provider and mobile clients by characterizing the mobile phone as well as the WAP transportation protocols. The architecture of the dedicated WAP agent and the process model of the agent-based WAP gateway are illuminated seriatim. Performance test and evaluation in our real system shows that our proposed method works much better than none-agent WAP gateway system.
