Commitment-Based Semantic Web Service Selection Protocol

An important objective of the Semantic Web service is to enable machine-oriented automatic and flexible service discovery, selection, composition, and inter-operation. To achieve this, agent-based solution will be necessary. In this paper we investigate how commitment-based agent interaction protocol can be used to support flexible service discovery and selection in a payment scenario. In particular, we describe the specification of the payment service selection protocol which uses a commitment-based agent communication language. We also present the architecture for exploiting this approach. Finally, we show the limitations of this approach and give the future research direction.
