摘要

The model of expansion and cracking due to alkali aggregate reaction is analyzed using micromechanical method. The interaction between the matrix phase and the particle phase is studied. If the expansion of matrix phase is smaller than that of the particle phase, the matrix phase restrains the expansion of the particle phase. The expansion of concrete increases with the increase of the particle phase, and radial cracks may occur. If the expansion of the matrix phase is larger than that of the particle phase, the particle phase restrains the expansion of the matrix phase. The expansion of concrete decreases with the increase of the particle phase, and it may result in circumferential cracks.
