Efficient High-Throughput Micro mixers for Production Purposes

Up to now, microreactors have hardly been used for chemical production purposes. To enhance the utilisation of micromixers and microreactors for chemical production, three strategies are proposed. For this, a new class of micromixers - convective micromixers - are presented and described. Two different fabrication methods, the usual micro fabrication and a more cost-effective casting method in polymer, are shown and rated concerning their costs. Finally, a general strategy for the design and fabrication of micromixers in chemical production is outlined.
