The initiating system using electrically exploded metal foils to accelerate small flyer can make the velocities of flyer to 4-5 000 m/s. The flyer can provide a high impact pressure to initiate explosives. Metal foil is an important element in the system of flyer initiating explosive. The time of metal foil explosion is about 1-2 μs. When conduct time is long, the metal foil can't explosion and it will only be melt as a fuse. In order to ensure the work of metal foil normally, the metal foil thickness can be selected as 5 μm, the length and width of metal foil is 1 mmx1 mm. By experimental testing, it is found that the time of metal foil damaged is 1.8 μs and can meet the need of flyer initiating system.
