COMMUNICATION ISSUES OF NUCLEAR DIGITAL IC SYSTEMS FOR TaiNICS DESIGN

This paper presents a design of communication architecture for the nuclear digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) system in the Taiwan's Nuclear I&C System (TaiNICS) project, in which multiplexing network techniques and applications are used extensively for nuclear power plant protection, control, and monitoring. Communication issue is utterly important in nuclear digital I&C. The effects of the response time resulting from using for the data transmission by interdivisional communication will be discussed. Comparison with the regulatory requirements and the experiences from Oconee SER are studied. This paper also introduces the technical self-reliance experiences of the nuclear digital I&C Systems developed in the TaiNICS project.
