The system has a broadcasting unit (2) arranged in a central site (SC) for broadcasting, over a local area network (3), a digital signal formed using digital content received from a server (1) according to a given digital format, where the signal comprises an ordered list. TV sets (TV1-TVj) are arranged in decentralized sites (SD1-SDj) for receiving the signal to restore the ordered list. Each TV set restores the digital content issued from a digital source selected among digital sources (S1-Sn), in response to the selection of the digital source using the ordered list. An independent claim is also included for a method for accessing digital sources from TV sets via a local area network.
