摘要

Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) is a system that convertsheat energy into electricity using the temperature difference betweensurface seawater and deep seawater. This paper describes a dynamicmodel construction for the transient performance of OTEC plant usingthe recently developed power cycle, in which binary mixtures ofammonia and water were used as the working fluid. The mathematicalmodels were constructed based on thermodynamics and structuralfeatures of the power cycle. Confidence in the model’s accuracy hasbeen established by comparison of the simulation results with thoseobtained experimentally in a pilot OTEC plant.
