The method involves operating a jet compressor in such a manner that end temperature and pressure obtained behind a diffuser lie above evaporating temperature and evaporating pressure of a working fluid e.g. water, in a vaporizer. Energy of gaseous or vapor mixture is transferred from the working fluid and a propelling vapor by heat exchange on the working fluid boiled in the vaporizer. The energy of the vapor is used for evaporating additional working fluid. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for converting heat energy into mechanical, electrical and thermal energy.
