This paper presents the application of HSDT to dynamically monitorthe underwater pile foundations of the PY34-1 CEP Jacket in SouthChina Sea. The eight-legged CEP Jacket, standing in a water depth ofapproximately 190.2m, is secured to the seafloor with 16×ø108'(2743mm)×148.3m pipe piles. HSDT has been used to measure soilresistance at the end of initial driving and during restrike driving atdifferent waiting time periods. Studies on the SRD have beenperformed to predict LTSR and establish the relationship betweenLTSR and SRD in this area, which can be used to optimize futuredesign and driveability analysis.
