This paper presents the application of HSDT to dynamically monitorthe underwater foundation pile installation of the Liwan 3-1 CEP Jacketin South China Sea. The eight-legged CEP Jacket, standing in a waterdepth of approximately 189.5m, is secured to the seafloor with16×?108"(2743mm)×158m foundation piles. It is very challenging toapply this technique to underwater piling, especially as deep as thisproject. The testing procedure is discussed in detail and summarized inthis paper. The test results combined with CAPWAP? analysis arepresented. A refined wave equation analysis was performed to helpdetermine the capacities of other piles not tested.
