The Researches on Public Participation in Environmental Management——The Case Nanjing Green Assessment as an Example

As economy develops, the environmental issue is increasingly becoming a hot focus for people. Although the environmental awareness of the government, social organization and the public is improving continuously, this problem has not been thoroughly solved. One of the most important reasons is the lack of public participation. Therefore only with the establishment of a sound system of public participation can the environmental management produce effective result. The article based some thoughts about public management in environmental management of China on the Nanjing Green Assessment case, designed and constructed the approaches for public participation in environmental management, and then proposed ways of constructing and innovating the public participation system of environmental management in China, based on the theory of environmental management and the background for practicing in China.
