An engineering method for the prediction of radiatedsound using substitute sources

The method of substitute (equivalent) sources has been successfully used for the modelling ofsound radiation from vibrating objects. One of the key problems associated with this method consists infinding the location and the number of substitute sources. The paper describes an engineering techniquewhich allows finding sub-optimal but effective placement of substitute sources in a short computation time.Several examples are shown which confirm the efficiency of this method.
