The interplay between ferroelectric domain switching and quasi-static crack growth is investigatedusing phase field modeling and simulation.The elastic and dielectric inhomogeneities inducedby the growing crack are modeled as properly chosen distributed effective eigenstrain and polarizationbased on a developed generalized Eshelby's equivalency principle.The proposed phase fieldmodel is capable of simulating the concomitant crack propagation and domain switching.How thecrack propagation influences the domain switching and how the domain switching influences thecrack deflection under different levels of mechanical and electrical loadings are discussed throughnumerical simulations based on the model.
