Designing of Fractional Order PID Controller for Unstable Fractional Order System

) controller for an unstable fractional order (FO) system. FPA searches the 5 appropriate parameters of the controller to meet the response specifications of the system. Results obtained by this procedure will be compared with those obtained by the integerorder proportional-integral-derivative (IOPID or PID) controller or the conventional controller. By comparison of unit step response, the optimal FOPID controller yields very satisfactory responses superior than the IOPID controller with faster response and very small steady-state error. MATLAB and FOMCON programs are used to conduct this research.
