The pulsatile blood flow in the flexible stenosed artery is numerically simulated and the wall stress is calculated. The rapid pressure change downstream of the stenosis causes strong wall stress at the foot of the stenosis. The wall stress increases with the increase in Reynolds number and the steepness of the stenosis, and is strongest at resonance Stokes number.
