A three-level neural model is proposed for studying humannintelligence. The three levels consist of the basic neuron level, thenmodule level, and the module organizational level (also called thenneocortex level). To bridge the operations and the functions performednon both the module and the module organization levels, a concept calledn`sensation' is introduced. A sensation group is defined as the spatialndistribution of sensations over the neocortex, which represents the solenvehicle on the module organization level. Since on the functional levelnknowledge can be described as the relationships among the sensiblenobjects in the real world and also as mental ideas, it can benrepresented by the relationships among the sensation groups on thenoperational level. Several basic operational mechanisms involved in thenorigins of knowledge are discussed
