Along with the rapid economic and socialrndevelopment in China, more and more petrochemicalrnproduct are required. China is short of oil resource and itsrnoil utilization ratio is much lower than the world level,rnespecially the refinery dry gas, which sourced fromrnrefineries, usually contains large amounts of hydrogen,rnnitrogen, carbon monoxide and about 20 percent volumernof ethylene which is valuable chemical substance, hasrnbeen low used. The ethylene, however, is not easy tornseparate from other components and is normally burnedrnoff in the refineries for heat recovery. In order to solvernsuch problems and meet the huge need of resources,rnChina has to readjust its energy structure and enlarge thernpercentage of natural gas of the primary energy mix.rnBesides these, China should encourage refineries to usernnatural gas to substitute refinery dry gas as its primaryrnenergy fuel, so the replaced refinery dry gas can be usedrnas raw materials of petrochemical industry. Hydrogen canrnbe recovered from it as the resource for thernhydrogenation of cleaner fuels. Ethane and ethylene alsorncan be recovered for ethylene production to optimize thernfeedstock and reduce energy consumption. All measuresrnabove mentioned have significant cost benefits forrnpetroleum refineries and are environmentally friendly,rnwhich would greatly contribute to national harmonicrndevelopment of energy, economy and environment.
