This paper describes features of complex technologyrnproducts and main contents of integrated design. First,rnconverting customer demands into engineeringrnrequirements and selecting technical approachrnscientifically. Second, process integrating. Effects ofrnvarious engineering factors on product performances inrnprocess of production, transportation, stockpile andrnservice should be taken into account since early stages ofrndesign, and new technologies should also be adopted tornimprove comprehensive product performances. And third,rnmaking top-level design and forming a top-level designrnscheme, including determining design purpose, selectingrntechnical routes and disintegrating key techniques.rnBased on analysis, this paper discusses designrnconcepts for converting customer demands intornengineering design requirements, presents requirementsrnand corresponding methods for compacting andrnlightweightening, reliability, environmental adaptability,rnmaintainability and safety design. This paper alsornanalyzes the implication of integrated design and process,rnand application of key technologies such as design methodrnfor manufacturability, reliability design, materialrncompatibility study, and environmental engineering factorrnanalysis, and puts forward the main contents of top-levelrndesign. Design integration is an important design methodrnbased on principle of system engineering that aims at totalrnlife cycle of products. This method integrates customerrnrequirements into an organic whole reasonably, and isrnable to demonstrate design requirements for total liferncycle of products, and furthermore, to solve problems byrnstages in integration of different professional techniques.rnThe design integration method proposed in this paper isrnespecially fit for complex technology products that requirerncritical performances.
