Inhibited Chemiluminescence Determination of Hydroquinone Using Homemade Micro Chip

In order to detect hydroxybenzene compounds with chemiluminescence method on micro-fiuidic chip, according to the principle of inhibited reaction of hydroquinone to Luminol-H_2O_2-Co~(2+) chemiluminescence proposed by Merenyi, the structure of micro-fiuidic chip was designed and fabricated in our lab. The dimension of the homemade microchip was 40 x 30 x 4mm. The serpentine mixing channel was fabricated by heat imprinting on PMMA substrate, the cover PMMA plate was bonded with substrate by heating and a very small amount of organic solvent. Finally, the relative miniaturized total analytical system was assembled. The analytical method of hydroquinone on the homemade micro-fiuidic chip was established. Experimental results indicated that Merenyi's theory was reasonable, linear range of hydroquinone was between 2.0 x 10~(-7) - 2.0 x 10~(-8) mol/L, and the limit of detection was 2.0 x 10~(-9) mol/L. Hydroquinone in simulated water sample was detected under optimized operating conditions with the homemade micro-fiuidic chip. The results of inhibited chemiluminescence determination of hydroquinone showed that this method was effective to quantitative analysis of hydroquinone on microchip.
