Extending operating voltage window is a simple and effective way to improve the energy of EDLC (Electric Double Layer Capacitor) since it is not necessary to change electrode materials. However, the performance of EDLC is deteriorated at high voltage by side reactions between the electrode and the electrolyte. Functional electrolytes are applied to resolve this problems. TMSP (tris (tri-methylsilyl) phosphate) and TMSI (1- (tri-methylsilyl) imidazole) were added to the electrolytes consisted of acetonitrile (ACN) and two different salts of SBP-BF4 (spiro bi-pyrrolidinium tetrafluoroborate) and TEA-BF4 (tetraethyl ammonium tetraflouroborate), respectively. The EDLC cells containing different electrolytes were tested for evaluating the additive effect on the performance of cells at high voltage. The results will be presented at the meeting.
