The soil features, distribution and dynamic characters of Shen Fu irrigation area were studied by analyzing statistical data and oil degradation tests in order to further study the ralationship between microbes and oil degradation. Data collected in Shen Fu sewage irrigation area show that indigenous microbial flora addicted to oil has formed after a long-term oil sewage irrigation and the quantity and distribution of microbes varied with time and temperature. Through oil degradation tests, it was found that oil contents in soil and water decreased with time. The microbial degradation rate in soil accorded with the first class kinetic equation.
