In situ restoration of soil and/or water/ground water in the soil with a contaminated soil area (20) comprising at least partially biologically degradable pollutants, comprises forming at least one deposit (25, 30, 35) with an oxygen-releasing substance in the soil preferably below the contaminated soil area.
