Designing Information Systems Degree Programs for Working Professionals

Through this project, we have learned a great deal that can aid in working with experienced IS/IT professionals in an academic setting. These students require programs tailored to their specific needs, and to serve them better we must continuously seek more effective ways to both understand and meet these needs. They require support in translating their learning into an academic framework, and because they meet prerequisites for courses through means other than prior college courses, they need additional guidance in selecting courses. And they need courses with a broad scope that recognizes their learning, pushes them to acquire new knowledge, and evaluates them on their ability to synthesize their prior learning with that new knowledge.
