Needs for small electrical actuators exist for many different applications such as medical devices, measurement systems, watches, etc. For very small sizes, electromagnetic, electrostatic and piezoelectric solutions are in competition. For high speed, small size motors, the piezoelectric solutions cannot be considered. The limits for electromagnetic solutions toward small sizes can be improved, thands to the combination of different parameters: an optimum design, a simple structure, large scale productiong tools and high quality components and materials.
