Performance Measurement of Collegiate Athletics Departments

Like other organizations, collegiate athletics departments face the challenge of operating efficiently efficiently. Performance measuremen measurement in this environment is made more challenging by the need to be successful both on and off the playing t fields. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) assesses the relative efficiency of decision decision-making units and identifies the most efficient organizations from a among the units mong units. For those organizations that are not efficient, DEA suggests reference organizations for comparison and improvement targets targets. In this study, performance data was analyzed . Using basic DEA models and the results provide information that can be used for policy analysis contributing to productivity and performance improvement.
