摘要

The impacts induced by oil film on sea surface are mainly caused by three factors: the damping effect for small scale waves, the reduction for friction velocity, and the modification for the Fresnel reflection coefficient. Taking these three factors into account, the terahertz electromagnetic (EM) backscattering from sea surface covered by oil film with finite thickness at small incident angle is investigated in this paper. Firstly, a damping model which associated with the thickness of oil film is employed to study the influences induced by oil film on the sea curvature spectrum. Then, the sea surface covered by oil films is treated as a two-layer medium. The influences of oil film on Fresnel reflection coefficient are studied. By using the SSA, the scattering coefficients of clean sea and slick-covered sea surfaces are evaluated. The work presented in this paper introduces a method to study and investigate terahertz EM scattering from sea surface covered by oil film.
