Ultra Compact Truncated Ground Monopole Antenna for DCS 1800/ PCS 1900 Applications

摘要

A printed microstrip fed single band monopole antenna having a dimension of 0.240 λg × 0.095 λg suitable for 1.8 GHz (DCS 1800) application is depicted. The structure comprises of a truncated ground microstrip fed simple monopole to achieve the compactness. The simulation and experimental results are in good agreement and shows that the proposed antenna exhibits good impedance match, gain and stable radiation patterns in both principal planes. To give a deep understanding about the performance of the antenna, equivalent circuit model of the antenna is also developed.
