Capacitive absorber design and circuit analog absorber design are two well known techniques for designing broadband microwave absorbers. In this paper an absorber design is developed by combining both capacitive and circuit analog absorbers for reduction of absorber thickness. Using equivalent circuit analysis an absorber design was proposed and optimized for C-band. The design consists of a capacitive layer and a circuit analog layer with lumped resistors. The full wave simulation of the designed microwave absorber shows absorption bandwidth of below -10 dB in 4.23 - 8.13 GHz. The designed absorber has a thickness less than λ/10 at the center of the absorption band. The C-band absorber design is also experimentally verified.
