In order to improve the utilization of footprint, height analysis in public security practice, we remake the ink samples of 300 shoes of the 18-25 age group, and use the image grayscale centroid after the grayscale processing of the obtained image. The image gray centroid algorithm is used to calculate the grayscale centroid points of thumb, plantar and heel indentation areas, and the Euclidean distance between the particles is calculated automatically (independent variable X1, X2, X3). The single factor and multivariate analysis of the height of the young population was carried out by using the methods of univariate linear regression and multivariate linear regression. The feasibility of this height analysis method was discussed, and the influence of each factor on the height was also compared. It provides a certain reference for the automatic and quantitative development of height analysis using footprint.
