Medical tattooing is used for coloring the skin by the technique of tattooing for the purpose of matching the color of nevus and scars to the surrounding normal skin. Many trial operations are repeated to control the tattooed skin color because the scattering and absorption of light by the skin make it difficult to predict the color. To reduce the burden of patients and surgeons, it is necessary to predict the color appearance of tattooed skin. This paper proposes a new method to predict the color appearance of the tattooed skin. After two trial dyes are tattooed, it is possible to predict the color appearance of the third dye under the skin. According to the modified Beer-Lambert law, the reflectance spectrum from the skin is influenced not only by the absorption but also the scattering of light by the dye. If the scattering characteristics of the third dye are the same as those of the trial dyes, it is possible to predict the color appearance of the third dye under the skin from the absorption spectra of the three dyes and the reflectance spectra of the two trial dyes.
