The reactive powder concrete (RPC) is a revolutionary material that provides a unique combination of ductility, strength, durability, with compressive strengths up to 200 MPa and flexural strengths of up to 50 MPa. This results in a concrete product with properties competing with steel and allows for the design of new products and structures using concrete. In this paper a new type of railway bridge structure-prestressed RPC box girder is presented. The analytical results show that the new girder is of good mechanical properties and greater durability. Superior ductility and energy absorption of RPC material provides greater structural reliability. Superior corrosion resistance of RPC provides ability to withstand the rigors of environments. The combination of RPC in tension area and conventional concrete in compressive area of the girder makes it possible to reduce the fabricating weight and to increase the span of two-line high-speed railway bridges.
