A model of texture segmentation is presented based on the combination of the mask operators and morphological operators. The method is simple statistic in nature. This model is efficient both as a procedure for image and image segmentation and as a model of an important human visual process. The important advantage of this approach is that it works with various lag (difference) values in much more general way than any of the individual segmenters. And this method will not fail catastrophically as each of the individual lag segmenters can be chosen for one image type or another. As one lag segmenter fails, however, another one succeeds. This is the essence of the success of the lag- approach of the system.
