Road To Multi Utility Encryption System (MUES)

It is dangerous to have sensitive communications between different government officialsrnon unsecured telephone lines. It is well known that the present unsecured lines can berneasily tapped to reveal plans, designs and the status of ones projects to a third party. Sornit is very much needed to develop suitable encryption equipment for use amongrngovernment offices. This paper discusses the design and development of one suchrnequipment called the Multi Utility Encryption System (MUES). The system will consist ofrna personal computer (PC) with Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) cards inserted inrnthe PCI slots, phone, modem and fax machine. The PC will be connected to modems forrntransmitting the digital encrypted voice as tones by the modem. MUES uses proprietaryrnencryption algorithm for encrypting and de-encrypting of voice and fax.
