Joint Implementation (JI) is one of the mechanisms of the exchange of emission reduction units (ERU) among nations accepting emission assignments (budgets) under the Kyoto Protocol. Article 6 of the Protocol allows the transfer and the acquisition of ERU resulting from JI between the Protocol's Annex 1 Parties.
