STUDY ON THE INTEGRATED PROJECT MANAGEMENT MODEL OF CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

In recent years, along with the economy globalization and the emerging political, economic, social and technological developments, the construction industry has encountered increasing competitive pressure. Due to the long construction period, numerous involved parties, complicated techniques and geographical separation, construction projects are generally faced with the problem of inefficient management, which directly increases much unnecessary cost. Firstly, this thesis introduces the situation and existing problem of China construction industry. Based on the modern project management thinking, combining with the Integrated Management, Lifecycle Management, Third Party Logistics, Virtual Organization and other modern management methods, this thesis proposes Integrated Project Management Model of Construction Industry (IPMMCI). By studying the establishment of the IPMMCI, this thesis provides a three-dimensional integrated management model of the whole construction project, including every phrase, every party and every key factor of construction project management, and builds a virtual organization environment in which the project information can be shared, exchanged and connected freely. The IPMMCI is intended to found an efficient management mechanism of the construction industry to connect the traditional construction industry through network and to enhance the economic benefits and competitiveness of the whole construction industry.
