The objective herein is to study the influence of the spatial rainfall variability on the resultingrnvariability of the unit hydrograph of urban basins. This simulation study concerns two basinsrnof surface areas of 460 ha and 180 ha represented by a distributed rainfall-runoff model. Thernforcing of the model with radar rainfall measurements at a 250 m spatial resolution is studiedrnand compared with the forcing of the model with spatially uniform rainfall rates. A theoreticalrnformulation, based exclusively on the basin geometrical description and the rainfall statisticalrncharacterization, will also provide an estimation of this variability.
