FPSO Operating Experience in Australia/New Zealand

MODEC has amassed considerable operating experience with FPSO's in Australia. Since 1998, MODEC has been operating three (3) FPSO's in Australian waters, and in addition, MODEC supplied one (1) FPSO for New Zealand waters. MODEC continues to expand its operating fleet in Australian and New Zealand waters, in addition to operations in South East Asia, West Africa, Brazil, and the Gulf of Mexico. Currently, MODEC is operating 9 (nine) FPSO/FSOs and 4 (four) are under construction, around the world. Refer to Fig.1.rnThis paper presents a brief background to these FPSOs and some of the useful 'Lessons Learnt' from our operational experience with FPSOs in Australian waters, in areas such as safety management, the maintenance of technical integrity and the management of human resources, as well as our outlook for the future in this region.
