Rapid and static load tests were conducted on an open-ended and a closed-ended pile in therngeotechnical centrifuge. Fine-grained sand and silt samples were tested. In both rapid and static load tests, the soilrnresistance of closed-ended pile is higher than the soil resistance of open-ended pile, for sand and also silt. The ratiornof maximum soil resistance between a rapid load test and static load test does not depend on pile type but on soilrntype: 1.0 for sand and 1.2 for silt. A proper scaling of the test on an open-ended pile in the geocentrifuge requiresrnthe usage of silt.
