A dynamic Material Point Method for use in Geomechanics is presented. Soil and structural bodiesrnare represented by (material) particles, which move inside an unstructured mesh of four-noded 3D tetrahedralrnelements. As a first example, a collapsing tunnel is considered. Subsequently, the penetration of a drop anchor intorna Mohr-Coulomb soil is considered. The third example consists of pile driving.rnIn the second part of this paper attention is focused on the generation and dissipation of pore pressures underrndynamic loading. As a special application wave attack on sea dikes is considered in full detail.
