Owners experience with the pilot project Hogsfjord submerged floating tunnel

During the 1980's and 1990's the Norwegian Public Roads Administration studied different fjord crossing alternatives for a permanent connection across the Hogsfjord, and among them the Submerged Floating Tunnel. At this time, the Submerged Floating Tunnel was just science fiction, and it was a challenging task to develop this new fjord-crossing alternative to a stage that it could be compared to traditional crossing alternatives.
