Isometric pipe drawing is one of key drawings in shipbuilding. These drawings are used for pipe inspection, pipe spool construction and pipe installation. So, automatic generation of this drawing has been important issue in shipbuilding. We implement isometric drawing generation system. Outfitting pipe model is usually constructed with long pipe component and short fitting component like valve, flange etc. As a consequence, scale drawing (same scale for all pipe components) is usually not easy to understand. Therefore, non-scale drawing is preferred as construction and installation drawing. But it is really time-consuming job to draw it by hand. In this system, non-scaling process is developed, it calculates various scale factors considering component property and keeping model topology. Combinatorial optimization and two dimensional space search algorithm are evaluated and applied for dimension and text note layout automation. This system is tightly interweaved with Shipbuilding cad system (Tribon system) and based on shipbuilding and shipyard practice. As a result of this implementation, this system can produce quality pipe drawing.
