摘要

This paper describes “mini-μ-road” and “LONTRA” – Arctic frictionmeasuring devices in laboratory and on field and their correlation. The basic mechanicalconstructions of both devices and the method to prepare the ice surface in laboratoryconditions are shortly presented. Some measurement results and the correlation between thesetwo apparatus are briefly discussed.The results obtained with mini-μ-road and LONTRA can be used for example in basicresearch work, comparing different rubber compounds/surfaces/tyres or analysing climaticconditions effect on friction. Both introduced devices are more efficient than measuring tyreproperties with a car - friction tests with mini-μ-road and LONTRA are faster, easier andcheaper. Correlation between laboratory tests (mini-μ-road) and field tests (LONTRA) hasproved to exist.
