MINI-m-ROAD AND LONTRA – ARCTIC FRICTION MEASURINGDEVICES I IN LABORATORY AND ON N FIELD AND THEIR CORR CORRELATION LATION

The basic mechanical construction of the devices and the method to prepare the icesurface in laboratory conditions are shortly presented, the results from different testseries and the correlation between field and laboratory tests are discussed.The results obtained with mini-m-road and LONTRA can be used for example inbasic research work, comparing different rubber compounds/surfaces/tyres oranalysing conditions effect on friction. Both introduced devices are more efficientthan measuring tyre properties with a car - friction tests with mini-m-road andLONTRA are faster, easier and cheaper. Correlation between laboratory tests (mini-m-road) and field tests (LONTRA) has proved to exist.
