Variation of Cultural Convention in Asia : AFSIT-SIG on Internationalization Activity

摘要

The main aim of INTERNATIONALIZATION of Information Technology (IT) is to pursue "total cultural independence" of IT, or totally neutral computer applications to each culture. In other words, localization of IT is to adapt the neutral product to each cultural requirements. Activities towards "Internationalization of IT" have been undertaken by various parries all over the world. One such activity, the Asian Forum for Standardization of Information Technology (AFSIT) Special Interest Group (SIG) on Internationalization is being promoted by the Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) with the collaboration of experts from ten Asian countries.
