摘要

The most common form of multi-vehicle accident involving motorcyclists is for another road-user to manoeuvre directly into the motorcyclist's path (Fulton, Kirkby and Stroud, 1980). Following such accidents, drivers frequently claim that they "failed to see" the motorcyclist. this has led to numerous studies of how motorcyclists' conspicuity can be enhanced by aids such as fluorescent clothing and daytime headlight use (reviews in thomson 1980, 1982).
