Repository of Knowledge for Manufacturing Process Planning

摘要

The paper presents the idea of the system for storing the data and knowledge used by semi-generative, computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) system. The models of manufacturing knowledge in the form of hierarchical decision nets are described in details. Hierarchical decision nets consist of frames and rules, where frames contain structural knowledge and the rules represent planning knowledge. The paper presents also the model of data of manufacturing system capabilities and object oriented database of manufacturing features used to store the data from commercial CAD system being the source of information about the product. Data and knowledge stored in the repository are used by semi-generative process planning system. The selected Client Server technology allows using the developed solutions in the distributed environment.
