摘要

In this paper the optimal design of chemical processes is discussed. Optimization problemsrnimposing constraints for the process parameters as well as for optimal control of the processrnoperation are considered. The effects of the interaction of process design and optimal controlrnis discussed and a simultaneous optimization procedure providing economic and operabilityrnbenefits over the traditional stand-alone approaches is proposed. The applicability of the idearnto optimal design of a heat pipe heat exchanger is demonstrated.
